In early April 2022, I had the chance to serve alongside more than 100 amazing individuals working together as a team. We spent the day beautifying an urban farm in Southeast Washington DC.
Volunteers cleared underbrush, built extended paths for walking in the woods, stuffed logs with beneficial fungus, recovered a greenhouse with tarpaulin, framed garden beds, planted new seedlings in mulch, and more.
I experienced such joy on this day. Easy laughs permeated the air throughout the day. The time in nature was restorative. I left feeling refreshed.
