I remember the first time I met Marielena. A beautiful soul with a genuine smile, supplying something inventive to ameliorate a dysfunctional system. I felt gratitude.
Marielena would continue to be a light and joyful presence, unafraid to speak to truth, as I got to know her over several months.
I accepted the honor of photographing Mari on the occasion of her 30th birthday.
It was a day filled with fast friends, fun stories, easy laughs, a smattering of rain, and finished off with a celebratory meal and cocktail :)
